5th wave, 6th wave, whatever. Fieldrush is a west coast emo band that formed at the end of 2020 and quickly jumped into and carved a space into San Diego’s emo resurgence. Drawing influence from Aussie power-pop to Midwest emo and shoegaze to post-hardcore, Fieldrush’s sound takes from a unique blend of the genres with broad appeal to an inevitably overlapping audience. Having shared the stage with acts such as Weatherbox, Australia’s Dune Rats, and Baltimore hardcore icons Angeldu$t and End It, the 3-piece has gained local respect for high energy performances that push the imagination of the studio recordings into another, chaotic level that makes it seem more like you’re watching a punk band at a punk show than an emo band and an emo show. DIY tour booking and releasing music independently with the help of Bay Area producer, Scott Goodrich (works include The Story So Far, Wavves, Just Friends, Pile of Love) is what’s up these days.
